Surgery Of The Ear
Ear surgery or otoplasty is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. For the most part, the operation is performed on children between the ages of 4 and 14. The earlier the surgery, the less teasing and ridicule a child will have to endure as he/she grows up. Adults can also benefit from this surgery. The goal of ear surgery is an improvement, not perfection, but most patients, young and old alike are thrilled with the results of this procedure.
Our surgeons also repair earlobes that have been stretched. Some piercings can stretch out the earlobe or leave a significant hole. This can be repaired here in our office. If you are just unhappy with the size of your lobes and would like the size to be reduced, our surgeons can do this as well.
